For a deli counter, barbecue operation, butcher shop, or high-volume kitchen, the correct setting is the one that delivers the same usable slice every time. That requires more than choosing a number on the adjustment dial. Operators need to account for product temperature, muscle structure, blade condition, menu application, and the actual thickness produced by the specific machine.
How Meat Slicer Thickness Settings Work
Commercial slicers use a thickness adjustment control to change the space between the blade and the gauge plate. As the carriage moves product across the blade, that opening determines the finished slice thickness.
