We had been using a 5 lb stuffer for years and this dwarfs that machine. We have only used it one day so far, for about 100 lb of deer sticks and summer sausage but it is so much nicer then the small stuffer. It was missing the stuffer-tube nut when it arrived but they sent a new one right away when I let them know we needed it.
Easy to use. Stuffed 25lbs jalape?o cheddar bratwurst the same day it arrived. Wish it had a break. Handle comes flying back on you if you're not ready it will get ya
Bought for my dad, he loves it. Came sooner than expected.
Very well-made.,very sturdy and no problem with any of the components. Easy to use and easy to clean up.
This thing is a beast. It holds a lot of product, 25 pounds to be exact. You better have a large grinder ready to be able to handle what this thing needs.
Warning: The Crank on this stuffer does not have a break on the crank. Meaning if you are cranking with some pressure, the handle will whip back forcefully if you let go or release it. Trust me, I have 3 staples in my head finding this out.
That said the 25 lb. canister will hold 25-28 lbs. of meat. It easily aides in stuffing casings as long as you don't use the smallest horn included.
I used once, was warned by another reviewer, I got whacked in the head by the handle, went to the ER to get staples in my scalp, and while I was gone a buddy and his wife finished stuffing hot dogs. They stopped shortly after I left for the ER.
The brackets at the top of the canister that hold the canister in place on the stuffer began to un-weld, twist, bend, and become damaged. I was told to place a 2x4 under the canister while using the smallest horn, I failed to pass this advice on to my buddy since I was in a hurry to get the bleeding to stop and my scalp closed up. I notice on similar stuffers of this size, many have feet at the bottom of the canister, I am sure it is by design to help stop the top brackets from twisting and bending.
By the way, I was going very slow and gentle stuffing when the handle slipped out of my hand, the pressure caused it to reverse course suddenly and very quickly, the metal crank only stopped this equal and opposite reaction once it applied an equal force to my head.
I did call their customer service line, and they did ship out a new canister. The bottom line, slightly dangerous to use, quicker than using a grinder to stuff with, good customer service, just hold on to the handle and be sure to brace the bottom of the canister with a 2x4 or something if you use the smallest horn or stuff something like hotdog casings.
